The "Give 10" campaign, which will fully engage our schools by investing valuable human capital, aims to increase widespread support for lifelong learning by placing myriad new volunteers in Lexington's schools.
Fayette County Public Schools challenges community, business, faith-based, and college organizations, families, retirees, and other education advocates to volunteer 10 hours a month to make a difference in students' lives!
You can sign up as an individual or as a team – just let us know how you want to help, and we’ll match you with a school looking for the skills you offer. Examples:

PTSA VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Healthy Lifestyles Committee: This committee begins meeting in the Fall to plan for the upcoming Leestown Middle Health and Wellness Fair. The Fair is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 600-730 pm. The purpose of this event is to provide our LMS community an opportunity to learn more about the benefits of a healthy life style. Committee members will be responsible for coordinating the day’s events including finding a keynote guest and vendors.
Staff and Teacher Appreciation: Teacher Appreciation is a monthly recognition for our LMS staff and teachers as they continue to provide the best learning environment for all of our students. The goal is to have an event every month starting in September 2017 and ending May 2018, which is a weeklong event. If you are interested, please select the month(s) you are available. The PTSA will work with you to plan a theme, develop a list of what is needed for the month, and solicit volunteers to donate to the event.
Fundraising: The Leestown Way Campaign 2017-2018 is underway to raise $2,000 from local businesses. The PTSA is also reaching out to the community for products to raffle and put in baskets for our LMS Team Basket Raffle in September. Committee members will assist the President with Requesting for sponsorships or other donations to promote the Leestown Way.
SBDM Nominations Committee: Committee is responsible for disseminating a call for nominations, prepare a slate of nominees prior to the election date including summarizing bios and creating ballot form, establishing a schedule to monitor activity on election days, tally votes, and communicate to LMS community election results.
Spirit Night Coordinator: Many local restaurants offer Spirit Night where a portion of the proceeds go back to Leestown PTSA. This individual would contact local area restaurants for Spirit Nights.
