The purpose of Leestown Middle School PTSA is to:
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and places of worship;
- To raise the standards of home life;
- To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth;
- To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth;
- To develop between the educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
Recognition
Janiene Smith was recognized at the 16th District PTA Annual Recognition Luncheon on May 10th as the recipient of the John and Maggie Price Award. This award is given annually to a volunteer who 'possesses a strong belief in supporting parent involvement, improving school/home relations, and the necessity to develop PTA leaders." Congrats Janiene!!

The PTSA has many reasons to celebrate the 2016-2017 school year:
- Assisted with purchasing and ensuring all students had a 1st day folder containing important back-to-school information
- Sought $1,000 in sponsorships to purchase Leestown Way T-shirts
- Hosted social event to recognize all students for K-PREP achievements
- Hosted Social Media Safety Awareness with Mr.Michael Vierguiz
- Provided funding to LMS School Bench Project
- Conducted Spirit Chain Event during Unity Week at LMS
- Provided prizes to students for Accelerated Achievement program
- Hosted Health and Wellness Fair promoting healthy lifestyles for our students
- Donated to host the Grit Show Assembly
- Hosted numerous Spirit Nights with local restaurants
- Purchased Break-Out Education Kits for students
- Purchased robotic technology to support the Robotics Club
- Hosted Good Faith Effort Party for all students
- Conducted monthly and a week-long event to recognize all teachers and staff for Teacher and Staff Appreciation
